Halloween post...a little late

Hey Y'all! I'm getting pretty stinky at posting lately. We're just so busy, and it's not looking like it's going to "let up" until after Christmas, so please bear with me.
Everytime I talk to my mama, she reminds me that I haven't posted a new blog lately and I don't think she's real happy about it! haha
Let me bring you up to date...
Robbie didn't want to be Diego for Halloween after all. He just decided that right about when I was getting ready to put him in his costume to go trick-or-treating and then to our church's festival. After our discussion, (cough, cough) he proceeds to tell me that he wants to dress up like his daddy! So....I grabbed a pair of overalls, a flannel jacket, and boots. That was just fine with him until I got a brown eyeliner stick to draw a goatee. Oh Lord, help me! It was CRAZY and I almost had to beat the child to get him to get in the van. Again, I'm kidding...kindof!
Then...I called mammaw and told her I was bringing Robbie over to trick-or-treat and she almost had a nervous breakdown because she didn't have any candy to give him. I told her I'd sneak her some and she was fine. When we walked in, I handed her a Tootsie Pop and she thanked me! She said she didn't know how long it had been since she'd had a lolipop! HAHAHAHAHAHA
So we finally headed out to do our trick-or-treating....leaving behind one happy mammaw unwrapping a Tootsie Pop!
Lord, give me strength!

A Lot Can Happen in a Week

Hey Y'all! I think it's been a week since I last posted! We've been busy as usual around The Doublewide!
First of all, we had a great time at the beach. If you've ever been to Myrtle Beach before during vacation, let me just say this: She ain't what she used to be! I miss The Pavillion, The Magic Attic, those old arcades that were open on both sides so you could feel a breeze while you played Skee-Ball, etc. Now most everything has been torn down and empty/vacant lots make me sad and make me wish that Robbie would have been able to experience that. Here's the lot where the old Pavillion used to be:We DID get to go to Family Kingdom, which is actually an older park with several rides. That was fun and he rode so many rides!
Since we've been back home, Robbie has insisted that he sleep in his OWN bed. He's slept with us almost all of his life and I'm so proud of him! I can actually read before I go to sleep or sprawl out and actually have my whole side! Me and Big Daddy ain't little things so we're kind of squished in our little queen-sized bed as it is, but it's much better for all of us, I'm sure.
I tried taking Mammaw to the doctor yesterday, but she was too weak to be able to get in the minivan with only my help. My daddy has a HORRIBLE cold and was not even able to hold his head up yesterday, so I had to get her there myself. I've been able to do it in the past, but it just wasn't happening yesterday. Me and my sister Doodah take turns getting off of work and taking Mammaw to her appointments but daddy always goes with her. I ended up having to call and reschedule her appointment for next week so hopefully daddy'll be able to help me or Doodah. That half day off was nice though. I ended up sleeping for about an hour on the couch before going to get Mammaw ready.
My 20th year high school reunion is coming up this weekend. Robbie's going be spending the night with his Nanny and GrannyPaw, which are Big Daddy's mama and step-dad. I hope to have a great time and see lots of old classmates.
I'll end with some of my favorite beach pictures! Take care!
Hope you have a great day today!
Be Blessed!

Fun Friday!

We had such a great day yesterday!
Robbie, mama and myself headed out around 9:00 to go on a day trip to the NC Mountains.
We had a full day planned and had so much fun!
After filling up the gas tank and heading up Interstate 40, we pulled off of an exit to get a Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuit. Those things are absoutely the best thing I've put in my mouth in a LONG time!
Then we headed on up to find the Elmore Pisgah Cotton Yarn Mill Outlet! I printed off directions from Mapquest and we missed a turn, had to turn around and go a completely different direction from what the map said, and finally made it!
Here's a couple of pictures of the town of Old Fort, North Carolina! After spending $85.00 (shhhh...don't tell Big Daddy) on a HUGE box of yarn, we decided to drive around the town a little bit. We found a nice store that is full of crafts from local people. Here's my mama and Robbie outside the store:
At one of the booths, Robbie found a pair of antique leather gloves. He had so much fun putting them on.
Here's all of my yarn I got!
Then while still riding around the town, I saw a YARD SALE sign! I whipped it in and began to look. There was a nice older man there and I told him I was looking for "Old Grandmaw Clip-On Earrings." He went to the van and pulled out a box. I was squealing with delight inside as I began to mate up the pairs. Ended up getting all these for $10.00! WHAT A STEAL!
Finally Joann, my college roommate called and we headed on up to Black Mountain to meet her at McDonald's for lunch. We had a great time talking and catching up and she fell in love with Robbie too! He just kinda has that way about him! He played in the Playplace while we chatted. Mama took two pictures of us while we were there. The first picture is of us during our Sophomore year of college at Mars Hill College. This picture was taken on the steps of Fox Dormitory where we lived that year: And here's the two mama took yesterday:
Joann--I had so much fun chatting with you and catching up! We MUST do it again this fall!
So, after that we loaded up the minivan and headed back home. We found a little yard sale on the way back and I bought these for Robbie for 75 cents each! I can't wait until Thanksgiving because the bottom sweater will get shown off! It's so cute!
When we got home around 5:00, I dropped mama off and we came home to The Doublewide. Robbie hung out here for awhile and then Big Daddy took him to spend the night with Nanny(Big Daddy's Mama). They're running some errands today and then she'll take him to Monkey Joe's to let him wear himself out before his nap.
I have GOT to get this place cleaned up a bit. My sink is full of dishes and the living room floor is STILL full of toys! Laundry's piling up too!
Oh, in case you're wondering what in the world I'm going to do with all of that yarn? I'm planning on making more of my famous cotton dishcloths and then I'm also making some Tawashi face cloths!
Here's what they look like:

And...I'm not sure if you remember the old little black picture frame that I got out on the FREE table while at the beach with the girls a few weeks ago, but here's what I finally did with it:

Now I'm outta here! These beautiful friends of mine are calling my name:

Have a great day today!
Be Blessed!
