Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!

 Hey Ya'll!
I found this pattern on the internet. It was made to be a can cozy, but I extended the length and made a water bottle cover out of it. When I finished I added an old clip earring to the front of it! I LOVE it and I've gotten a lot of complements too! hee hee Go here to get the free pattern, if you like to crochet!  Here's the pictures:

I hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday so far!  Things have been CRAZY since last Wednesday!
Me and Daddy took Mammaw to the doctor on Wednesday afternoon.  Her legs were starting to look pretty bad and I was scared they were going to become infected.  I cleaned them, put Neosporin on them, wrapped them in bandages, but couldn't seem to keep the sores and drainage under control.  While at the doctor, they did such a better job than I did and they were able to wrap them tightly in three layers after putting medicated salve on both legs.  On the way home, me and her and daddy were talking about my concern for her safety.  I talked her into coming home with me and staying for a "few days."  She's been with us at The Doublewide since Wednesday afternoon.  For the most part, things are fine.  Mammaw hasn't slept a full night yet.  She has been up and talking during her sleep.  I slept on the couch for the first three nights, but that wasn't very comfy....ya know?  Big Daddy suggested we get Robbie's old baby monitor and use it.  We now have the "speaker" part in our bedroom and are able to hear every move she makes during the night.  She did sleep all night last night, so we were happy about that!  Me and Big Daddy were about to collapse with fatigue, but since we were able to sleep all night last night too, we're gonna make it---I think!
Please say a prayer for all of us....for Mammaw to be comfortable while she's with us, for us to have the strength to keep her happy, rested, and comfortable, for God to heal her legs so that she can get back home--she really wants to be at "her" house.
Y'all have a great day today!
I sure am ready to see some of these soon ain't you?!

Party Pictures

Thought I'd share some pictures of The Birthday Boy! We had supper at CiCi's Pizza, then headed to Chuck E. Cheese to play! Robbie's birthmother and half sister were also there. They come every year and we are thankful that God has placed them in our lives through adoption!
We had a good sized crowd and had a blast!

Say a prayer for me today, PLEASE?!  I am working 1/2 day (leaving at 11:30)  and having to go get Mammaw ready for a dr. appt. at 3:30.  She has "weeping legs" and I think the right leg is infected...here we go again, right?!
Take care!

Well Here We Are!

Hey Y'all!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I saw on a news article somewhere that this weekend 49 out of 50 states had snow somewhere!  That's hard to believe, right?  It snowed here again Friday.  This was the third time that we've had some snow.  Me and Big Daddy were talking on the way to church yesterday about it snowing 3 times already--I couldn't tell you when that has happened.  If we get One Good Snow, we're lucky!
Friday afternoon, around 5:00 PM it started.  After 30 minutes, I opened the back door and pointed the camera towards the field.  Here's how quick it started sticking:
and 30 minutes later....
And 30 minutes later yet...
Ain't it purdy?  I love being inside, watching it snow, and enjoying the relaxation that it all brings.
Yea right...who am I kidding?!
When it snows, Big Daddy has to work because he's one of those men who'll be in the big yellow dump truck spreading salt/sand mixtures.  I'm home with Robbie and keeping a four year old entertained all day...well...you know...Seriously...there's only so much homemade playdough that I can stand.  Just jokin!  I really do love it!
Yesterday was Valentine's Day.  I hope you had a chance to tell your sweetie how much you love them!  On the way to church, I grabbed the camera and snapped this picture of my Little Man!  He loved getting to stand in the snow in his Sunday clothes!  Hard to believe that he's gonna be FOUR tomorrow!  I can't stand it!
Anyway...just look how precious!  I could just gnaw those sweet little cheeks off!

Also, wanted to show you really quick what I made last week.  I love to free-hand stitch/embroider.  I wrote the word "L&heart&VE" on a piece of muslin and stitched it with black, purple, pink, and red.  Then I took crayons and outlined the stitches.  Stitched it onto the heart and made a quick little heart puff ornie out of it!  Too bad Valentine's Day is over, but I can use it next year too!
Here's how it turned out:
And I'll leave you with a view of my bottom left-desk drawer...Dern those cute little Girl Scouts!
Be blessed today!

Updates

Hey Y'all! I thought I would drop by and update everyone. I haven't been blogging much as we've had a lot going on lately. I promise I will get better at blogging...
Most of the snow is gone. There are still some light patches hanging around. My Pappaw always said when he saw snow lying around after most of it was gone, that it was waiting on more snow. I sure do hope so! I've heard they're calling for more snow this week, so we'll see. I could stand another few days in my pajamas with nothing to do but drink coffee, play with Robbie, and hang out in computer land! Days like that make me wish that I didn't HAVE to work, ya know?
Don't get me wrong, I love my job...I love teenagers....I just don't like the fact that I HAVE to do it. I would much rather do it because I LOVED it all of the time. I'd rather be millionaires just doing whatever it was we wanted to do because we had the money to do so!
My dream would be to do crafts in a craft room like this:
or like this:
or this:
and sell them all at craft fairs like this:
and this:
and this:
and all the while never gaining any weight, due to the fact that we'd be millionaires and we could pay for things such as that, by eating all of this we wanted while at the craft fairs:
and this:
and this:
and this:
and this:
Since we would officially be millionaires, we'd have to have us something to live in while doing all of these craft shows....I think ours would look a little something like this:
But, alas, life just ain't like that for most of us, is it?!
I crocheted a scarf for one of my friends during our snow-days last week. When I gave it to her, she wanted to know how much money she owed me. I told her, "Just whatever you want to pay me is fine. You really don't have to pay me anything, so...." The next day, she gave me $25.00! I tried to give some of it back to her, but she wouldn't let me. SO...(MAJOR confession time here)...I took some of it and bought lottery tickets for Power Ball and Mega Millions. Normally, I don't waste my money, as I know it's a sin to gamble. But the devil won on Thursday night and I wasted $15.00 of the $25.00 that she gave me. While I was waiting on the drawings, Fri. night and Sat. night, I fantasized in my head what I would do with the money if we really were to win it big!
Here's my "When I hit the lottery, I'm gonna ________, List"
*Pay off all of our debts
*Build a huge house, with an elevator, exactly how we want it.
*Buy a travel-trailer and go from one end of the country to the other looking at antique stores, junk stores, flea markets, yard sales, garage sales, estate sales, etc. just to decorate and furnish the house.
*Give my 10% to the church, although I'm not sure that would be spiritually correct....
*Make sure my family is set for life, and that none of us ever has to "hit a lick at a snake" if we don't want to.
Anyway...the drawing came and went and none of my numbers matched anything to where I could get any money. It's ok...back to life as normal...it's ok to dream a little bit, but....you know what? I'm happy with the life I have right now....just like it is!
Enjoy your day today and be blessed!
