Busy as a BEE!

Hey Y'all!
I hope things are going well at your house! Things are busy at The Doublewide! Yesterday afternoon my daddy brought about 100 ears of corn to me. They even shucked them and carried them in the house!
I have put all of them up in the freezer! The green beans aren't doing too well, but my cucumbers, squash, and zuchinni are pretty regular in coming! Not enough to can, but I'm hoping to get enough cucumbers to make some pickles! We'll see.
I took Robbie to the Dr. yesterday. He gave him a clean bill of health and said he can go back to eating anything he wants and can play just as hard as he wants too. So, here we go! hee hee We can finally enjoy our time playing in the sandpile in the backyard and having a great time!
After his appt. yesterday morning, I decided to take advantage of being in town early. We went to a few thrift shops--found a few things, but not anything major.
Awhile back, my sister told me I should watch the TV Show called, "RUBY." Have you seen it? Oh my, I am soo hooked on her show. She makes me laugh and then will turn right around and make me cry, within a few minutes. I know where she's coming from and I can totally relate to her with weight issues. If you want to check it out, go to www.mystyle.com/ruby and learn more about her. She's a true Southern Girl from Savannah, GA and I promise you will get hooked on watching her.
Speaking of TV....
Guess what comes on tomorrow night??!!

I hate to tell y'all this, but my blogging life is not going to be as active as it has been. This show consumes me. I know it shouldn't, but I declare, I just can't help it! If you like reality TV, then you CANNOT miss it! I'm really not a huge TV junkie, but when Big Brother starts, life around here comes to a halt--seriously! Big Daddy and I love it and I literally feel like I could cry when it ends.
Ok--enough about that! But honestly---watch the premiere and see how you like it. It's on CBS!
Robbie is spending the night with Pop Pop and Mimi and I'm almost finished with a book, so I'm off to complete it!
Have a good night.
Be Blessed!

Get a LOAD of this!

The Day After

I had a wonderful birthday yesterday!
When I got up, at 10:15 (YES!!), Big Daddy had made me a pot of coffee. He had left to go get us breakfast and it was wonderful! I did nothing for the rest of the day!
Around 6:00 we started getting ready to go out to eat with my family. I had no idea where I wanted to go, but I finally decided on Red Lobster. I love crab legs and I've had a cravin' for some for awhile now.
We picked up Papa and Nana (my parents) and headed to Gastonia. My sister, Doodah and her husband Chad, met us there.
Here's my crab leg plate. Aren't they just lovely?
I gave my baked potato to Robbie, because I was saving all of the room in my belly for those crab legs!
After we finished eating, my sister and her husband bought me a dessert. It was a HOT chocolate chip cookie that had melted chocolate inside of it, topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with fudge sauce. After the staff sang to me, hee hee, I shared it with everyone and we LOVED it!
I just had to get a picture of Robbie eating his shrimp loaded with Ranch Dressing! That boy loves him some Ranch! Finally, we were done. Robbie was mesmerized by the tank full of lobsters. Mama, Big Daddy, and Papa all took turns taking him to the big tank and letting him look at them!
On the way out, my daddy grabbed a toothpick. Robbie had to have him one too, so I snapped this cute picture! You can barely see it in my daddy's mouth, but Robbie's toothpick is easily spotted. I was a nervous wreck and told him probably fifty times, not to poke his gums or cheeks. He did pretty good!
So there ya have it! Our pictures from my birthday dinner with the family--and not a one of me in any of them! Dang...I had me a good hair night too! Oh well...maybe some other time! HAHAHA
We're off to go swimming at our friends, Jan and Wayne's house this afternoon.
My brother in law, Chad, is going to be doing the cooking! I can't wait because his grillin' skills are smokin'!
Happy Fourth!
Be Blessed!

The Night Before

Well....we had a great time going out to eat tonight for my early birthday!
We ended up going to Shogun's in Gastonia. It is the best and they know me there by name. Whenever Big Daddy and I have a "date night," we always seem to end up here! The food is outstanding and the people there are so sweet!
I had Hibachi Steak with mushrooms! I could plumb waller in that shrimp sauce too! Sooo divine!
While I was gone out with the girls, Big Daddy and Robbie went to see Big Daddy's mama! (Did I lose ya?) They took her to dinner and had a great time visiting with her. She sent me a birthday card with $50.00 inside!!! WOOHOO! I'm going to Wal-Mart tomorrow and get me one of those under the cabinet CD players for my kitchen. I'm so mad at my cable company as they took THE BLUEGRASS MUSIC CHANNEL off the air! Oohhh...I am really really mad! I used to love to crank it up on the TV while I was cleaning or crafting! My favorite was last summer. I had it wide-butt-open while I was canning 97 quarts of green beans! Anyway--Imma get my bluegrass back! If I have to burn my own CD's and use my birthday money to make it happen, I WILL!
Here's a few pictures from tonight! Enjoy!
Thanks girls! I had a fabulous time with y'all!
Can't wait until next month for Anna's birthday gathering!
Be Blessed!

The Day Before

Hey Y'all!
It's the day before my 38th Birthday and I'm excited! I'm happy to be going out for supper tonight with my girlfriends! We've been together as a "group" since elementary school and we go out to dinner during the month of our birthdays. If you are the Birthday Girl for any particular month, you get to pick where we eat. I still have NO idea where to go. There's a great Japanese restaurant in Shelby, but I'm not sure I want to drive that far. Hmnn...guess we'll just have to wait and see! haha
Here's one of my favorite pictures of all of us! This was taken a few years ago at The Southern Women's Show in Charlotte. We had such a fun day!
Anytime we're all together, you can bet your bootie that we have a great time! This picture is of me and my friend Julie. She's my mammaw's babysitter too! Here's proof that we are crazy:
I will be sure to take pictures tonight so y'all can see updated pictures of us! Have a great afternoon! I'm headed to get Robbie down for his nap!
Be Blessed!

24 hr Vacation

Well.....Robbie and I made it to the beach Monday afternoon! We went to Holden Beach with my cousins and their kids. There were three mamas and five kids!
We had a safe trip down, amongst many stops to eat and pee-pee.
When we arrived around 2:00, we got all the kids in their swimwear and headed to the beach! Their place is about 2 miles from the big bridge, so we were there in no-time!
I slathered Robbie with sunscreen, but forgot all about myself! We had a BLAST and I got blistered!
After we came back, we noticed it was warm inside. Wouldn't you know, as our luck would have it, the A/C went out!
We ended up keeping the kids occupied until bedtime and had planned on toughing it out until morning. We couldn't bear it. It was 86 degrees inside with no breeze whatsoever. At 11:30, I finally couldn't take anymore so I got up, threw everything in the van, and headed home. We spent the night in a motel because I wasn't sure that I could make the long drive back home and headed home yesterday around 11:00 am.
Everyone was disappointed but we have promised each other that we'll go back as soon as possible!
Here's the whole two pictures I took of our trip! hee hee There you have it. Our 24 hr. vacation pictures! hee hee
Be blessed!
