Confessions and Pictures

Hey Y'all!
I'm pathetic....I know. I haven't had a lot of time to be doing any blogging lately, but I do check in on most of you and read your blogs when I can.
This is my favorite time of the year so I enjoy being outside when I can.
Yesterday was Big Daddy's Paw-Paw's birthday. Since I play piano for our church, I wasn't able to be at the celebration. Big Daddy and Robbie rode to North Wilkesboro and had a great time. I also enjoyed my quiet Sunday afternoon. After church, I went to Michael's and did a little bit of shopping. Then went through the McDonald's drive-thru to get me and Mammaw some lunch.
I had planned on getting me a good nap, but I cleaned The Doublewide and did some crafting instead. It was so nice and quiet and I enjoyed it tremendously!
I did go to "The Old House" (remember...the one that's haunted? If not, you can read about it here), to take some autumn pictures. Luckily no spooks, or slamming doors but the hair on the back of my neck stood up the whole time I was down there. I hope you enjoy some of the pictures that I took while there!
Have a wonderful day and come back tomorrow because I'm going to have some pictures of my craft afternoon for you!
Be blessed!

Here's the old house covered in vines...

I love this one! It's the path that leads to the spot where we had our garden when I was younger. Can't you just smell that woodsy smell right now?

This lonesome tree is out in the field behind the old house. It's been there forever and they've always plowed around it when working the fields. It's beautiful! The picture below is probably one of my most favorite spots on the whole farm. I used to ride the four wheeler out here and imagine what my house would look like and how it'd be nice to sit on the front porch and listen to the cars go up and down the road from way back there. I could see an old tire swing in the limb of one of the old trees out there and would sit out there and dream starry eyed dreams for hours! I hope this picture soothes your soul like it does mine when I sit out there in the back corner.

Life's Meaningful Moments

Just thought I'd let y'all in on something good!
Tonight while I was in the bathroom, Robbie came in and set down on the floor beside of me. He had some paper and a marker. I was working a Sudoku puzzle and we were chit-chatting. I finished my puzzle and looked to make sure he wasn't coloring his feet and hands with the marker and this is what I saw....
I didn't even know my child could write letters. When did he grow up? When did he learn this? Where was I?!
We talk about letters....like..."When making a BIG D we use a straight line down and a half of a circle." You know...small talk when it comes to writing, right?
I was shocked and amazed, to say the least and all I could do was begin to cry. My heart was full of gratitude to God for sending this miracle boy our way and for making me a mama through adoption after 10 years of trying.
I started crying as y'all know how long I have prayed for and waited for this...this very moment makes everything we went through to get him worth every second....this very moment I am thankful, this very moment my heart is full! Thank you Lord, again, for blessing us with this miracle who has totally made my life worth living!
Have a great one!

Weekly Post, a week late

Hey Y'all!
I am so sorry that it's been two weeks since I posted anything. Life is just going on here at The Doublewide in full swing.
Since this is my favorite season, we're not inside a lot!
Last week was our town's annual Country Fest! Me, my sister, and her mother-in-law, Jan all three had booths that were next to each other. I sold my jewelry from the Spring/Summer Line of Just Jewelry! I also made a whopping $425.00 and I have two girls that want to sign up to sell it along with me! I'm so excited about their opportunities with this company and can't wait to get them started.
We've also been doing some shopping. I had to get Big Daddy a new pair of Sunday shoes and Robbie had to have a whole new wardrobe--with three pairs of shoes to beat! That boy is just GROWING like a weed as my mammaw would say!
Speaking of mammaw, she's still doing ok, but is NOT wanting to move in over here with us. Bless her heart, she thinks that she would be a burden on all of us by living here, but it would be much easier on me if she did! A lot of y'all have let me know that you're praying for us, so please don't stop!
Yesterday we took some time off and went to an apple orchard about 2 hours away. You can check them out at http://www.skytoporchard.com/ and if you live in NC, please make plans to go there! It's wonderful and VERY kid friendly. They have a petting zoo, hayrides, homemade apple cider, homemade apple cider doughnuts, and of course, apples. You can pick your own or you can just purchase some there.
I've got lots to do this morning. My house is a wreck, just like it is at the end of every other week. I'm also going to my friend Catherine's in a bit for a sell your gold party! I'm parting with my charm bracelet, if and ONLY IF, I get enough for it. I hope to get enough cash to purchase one of these: They're from Amazon and they're called a KINDLE. This is the 2nd model and it will hold up to 1, 500 books. You can just turn it on and read whenever! I am loving this little thing and have been lusting over it for about 2 weeks now.
Also, I've been getting Robbie's Halloween costume together.
I hope you have a great day today! It's raining here and besides the Sell Your Gold party and a trip to the grocery store for Mammaw, we have nowhere we have to be today! WHOO-HOO!
Enjoy the pictures of us yesterday at the apple orchard!
