This post has been a work of art in my mind over the past few days. When you're driving to Carolina Beach and you are tired of listening to the same songs on the few CD's that you remembered to bring, and you've talked about everything and everybody from here to kingdom come, your mind starts to work just a little. You know, in those few and far between quiet moments with your sister and your best friend in the car.
There are a few things that I am totally in love with right now and I obsess over these things. So, I think I'll put them down.
Make sure you comment on what your favorite things are.

I just love these things! I made a bag especially for these small tastes of heaven so that while in church, I don't dig and rattle the trash in my purse trying to get to one!

Now let me tell you how to get back into your childhood! Go to the Dollar General Store and buy 10 of these! They're 10 for $1.00 and even if you hate the powder, those little cold vanilla candy sticks are THE BOMB! I think I'll start having one every night before bed! Man--I could kiss ole Willie Wonka right on the mouth for inventing this treat!

I am absolutely in love with this family. If you've been around me at all during the last six months, you know I'm not kidding! I have this programmed into my DVR through the cable company so that I won't miss a rerun. I can't wait to see some new episodes. RIP Mike--he was the older guy who was on several episodes and he passed away at the beginning of June. By the way, check out and go buy you some Roloff Farms dirt! It's only $8.00 for a jar! hee hee
As always, I love me some scrapbooking! I had a great time hosting my monthly crop with the girls! If you want to join us, drop me an email and I'll let you know when the next one will be!

This was my early birthday present from Ronnie and Robbie! I am loving my Cricut machine and have been making her hum already doing craft projects and my scrapbooking!

Vacation is around the corner and we are so excited! We have decided to hop around the NC Mountains and end up in Gatlinburg. This will be our first official vacation with just the three of us! Woohoo!

Can we all join in on the Hallelujah Chorus? I am counting down the days until Big Brother 10 airs on CBS! July 13th for those who have never watched it!

It's Been a Long Week!

Hey Y'all!

I'm so glad Friday's almost here! Robbie's been in daycare this week because I've been in a workshop group working on creating an AIG Math Curriculum for Seventh grade AIG teachers in our county. If you teach, you understand the jargon. If not, it's ok!

I am really looking forward to tomorrow and the rest of the weekend! After we finish the workshop, I'm on my way to the beach for a girls weekend with 7 other women. We have planned this for awhile and we're excited about getting to go and spend some girl time together. Poor Ronnie will have to be mama and daddy for the weekend, but I'm sure I'll make it up to him. I just love having a husband that says, "Go and have a great time!" when I ask if it's ok. A lot of husbands aren't like that and I'm lucky mine is so great!

I do worry about Mammaw though. Some of you may or may not know that my mammaw has dementia and even though she still lives alone, I am constantly in and out of there. Last night I spent almost an hour cleaning. Seems like I do this every other night because she makes messes and doesn't even know or remember that she has done it.

Her mind has been going slowly over the past 10 years, and of course it will continue to get even more worse as time goes on. This disease is a horrible monster and I pray everyday that God will let her short term memory improve. She can tell you anything you want to know about 'back in the day' but remembering something from five minutes ago is impossible. But she's my mammaw and I love her and as long as she's here I'm going to love on her and do everything I can for her.

Y'all have a great weekend and enjoy the pictures I took of me and mammaw about a week ago on her way to the doctor!

Late Night Reflections on a Long Day

Today was a great one! I got up early, made a breakfast casserole and cinnamon buns for my friends who were coming over to join me in a Creative Memories Scrapbooking session.
There were 4 of us total, with 2 kids, and with Ronnie and Robbie in and out...
I got Robbie's 2nd birthday stuff done and managed to fit in a trip to Hobby Lobby and The Dollar Tree with my sister. We had a great time shopping!
While R & R were out riding this afternoon, they passed a Taco Bell. That's all I've heard all evening is Robbie saying, "TACO BELL!" and dyin' laughing afterwards.
Isn't it funny how kids find the humor in nothing and then are able to make you laugh as well?
Have a great night!

Is it Friday Night Already?

Whew--I started this whole blog thingy with full intentions of updating nightly--kindof like a public diary. That didn't go well at ALL!
Since I got a new teaching position for the upcoming year as our Life Skills teacher (Home Ec. as most of you know it) I have been moving classrooms this week. I really didn't know I had accumulated all that crap over the past eight years. I was throwing things away like a wild woman--all the while in my mind I kept telling myself, "This would go well on Ebay", but who has that kind of time with a two year old? Not I said the Little Red Hen!
I am really looking forward to tomorrow. It's boys day out here at the Hersey House. I'm going to do some long overdue scrapbooking with my sister and a few friends.
I am going to bed now--I can hear a great novel calling me from my nightstand.

Oh what a glorious day!

Today has been one of the best days ever! Robbie woke up in the best mood! After chatting on the phone with Cousin, she invited us to come swimming. Robbie had fun and wore himself out so much that he took a 3 1/2 hour nap!

While he was napping, I was feeling a little crafty and ended up sewing a bag to put my fireballs in! If you know me, you KNOW how I love me some Atomic Fireballs--the little ones though, not the huge ones. Here's my bag:

I checked my email and had an email from my principal. She has decided to move me next year from 7th grade math and science to the Life Skills position!!! Can I get a whoop-whoop? Back in the day, we called that Home Ec. I have wanted this position for almost 2 years, and am excited; so excited I could POP!

Then--I noticed where Hobby Lobby has the Cricut machine on SALE! I asked Ronnie if I could go get it, since we had a little extra in the ole account, and he told me to! My birthday's not until July 3, but I got an early present! Oooh...I can't wait to make that baby hum!

After I got home, Robbie came running in the kitchen and hugged my legs and said, "Mama, I love you sooo much!" Let me tell you--there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING like that!
Have a great day! Things could'nt be better here!

Happy Father's Day

Whew...what a day!
Today was wonderful but I hope it was AWESOME for Ronnie. He's such a good daddy.
He got up early this morning, because he went from our bed to the couch to the spare bedroom. Robbie FINALLY went to sleep at 1:45AM. I so hate it when he gets his naps off schedule and can't/won't go to sleep.
Anyway...back to Ronnie... He ended up going to Wal-Mart early because he saw this pair of boots he wanted to get for his dad. So he brought home some Bojangles and we had breakfast before church.
Church was awesome. My daddy and Ronnie's daddy both were there. Me and my sister sang the special--it was a bluegrass number and we brought the house down! hahahahahha After church we went to "The Steakhouse on the Hill on 321". If you're from around here, you KNOW where that is. We went with Ronnie's dad and his stepmom met us there.
After that, we came home and had a long nap--all of us. At 6, my family met here to celebrate Father's Day with my daddy. I fixed....(get a napkin because your mouth's gonna water), Chicken Pie, Green Beans, Rice, Deviled Eggs, Tomatoes and Cukes, and for dessert I made brownies and homemade ice cream.
My buddy, Avery Crawford came and ate with us. We just love him.
I just realized that I didn't take NOT ONE picture today. How horrible is that?
Oh well...happy Father's Day all you dads!

And Away We Goooooooo this is my first attempt at blogging. I can't believe I'm almost 37 years old and I'm finally doing this.

Today was a wonderful day. I awoke to the sound of Robbie BEATING THE FIRE (pronounced FAR) out of the washing machine to a rhythm all his own. Ronnie was Lord knows where while the little drummer boy proceeded to wake me with his God given musical talent!

After kissing the both of them goodbye, (since they were going for breakfast and haircuts), I decided to drag it out of the bed and hit the coffee pot. Just plain old Folgers for me with lots of Sweet N Low and French Vanilla Creamer. After that got through my blood, I set in to doing what I felt needed to be done today.

I finished the Father's Day Slide Show for church, after about 4 hours! The load of white clothes in the dryer is still there from two days ago! I put it off because I hate folding draws and jockies and mating socks!

I loaded the dishwasher, but didn't start it... I folded the quilt from mammaw and put it back on the couch, where it stays!

Ronnie and Robbie arrived home and I honestly must say I wasn't ready. I was so enjoying my time alone.

We spent the rest of the day playing in Robbie's tent and eating snacks: bananas and puffs, and coloring with his big boy crayons on styrofoam plates! Mama came over and hung out while Ronnie cut the grass and changed the oil in my car. I told him that my back right tire felt low so he put some air in it. I neglected to tell him that I've ran over a dern nail somehow--imagine that! I feel a trip to Wester's Tire comin' on!
After mama left, Robbie took a little nap. He sure didn't get his nap out while riding home with his daddy--Nap length: 45 minutes. Robbie's REQUIRED nap length: 2 hours! I let him sleep from 6 to 7, but got him up so that he would go to bed at a decent hour. It's now 11:35 and he's in the bed, playing, chatting, anything to keep from going to sleep!
We had to go to the Double DG (my name for The Dollar General)--don't ask, to get some Father's Day cards for tomorrow. We'll be doing lunch with Ronnie's dad and step-mom and then supper with my daddy. I'm fixin' Chicken and Dumplings for daddy..Ronnie is soooo thrilled! hahahahhahahahahahah
Ok--that's enough for now. I'll ramble forever if I could!
I'll be back tomorrow with Father's Day pictures.
